The following summarizes the current School of Law Grading System effective Academic Year 2008/09. SoL courses completed prior to that time were subject to previous versions of this system.
Note: Effective Academic Year 2009/10, units earned in School of Law are quarter units. Units earned prior to that were semester units.

Results demonstrating successful mastery of the course material. |
R |
Results demonstrating work that is unsatisfactory. |
F |
Results demonstrating work that is not minimally adequate mastery of the material. |
MP |
Results representing successful (or better) mastery of the course material. |
N |
Results demonstrating satisfactory progress in a course that spans quarters but is not yet completed. |
L |
Indicates a passing grade with a letter grade to be reported. |
GNR |
No grade has been reported to the Registrar. It remains on the transcript until a grade is reported. |
Note: Under the grading system above, in 2008-09 third-year J.D. students remained under the prior grading system.
