How To Enroll in Classes
Adding a class
Add a class through SimpleEnroll
- Navigate to SimpleEnroll.
2. Search for classes by subject, course name, instructor or keyword.
3. Filter by instructor or select class.
4. Select enroll and follow prompted enrollment steps.
5. Review your selections, and if everything looks correct, click finish enrolling.
6. You may drop a class up until the Final Study List deadline. To do so, select the class, click the dropdown under actions, and select drop. After the Final Study List deadline, you have until the Course Withdrawal Deadline to withdraw from a class.
Add a class through Axess
- There are three steps to complete in order to enroll in classes through Axess:
- Select your desired classes
- Confirm the classes you’ve added
- View and confirm results
Search for classes
- Start by selecting the Student tab in Axess. Under Academics, click on Search for Classes. You may search using numerous criteria including subject code, instructor, keywords, university requirements (i.e., GERs), etc.
- Make a note of the Class Number (a four- or five-digit number) for each class in which you wish to enroll.
Enroll in Courses
- Select term and enter course information; you may also search courses if you are unsure.
- Enter Permission Numbers if required (obtained from the instructor), and select your grading option and units when appropriate. Click Next.
Note: The Permission Nbr field will always be present, but not all classes require a permission number.
- Add additional courses or proceed to the next step.
View and confirm classes
- Once you have made your class selections, you need to confirm your Pick List. Confirm your classes and click Finish Enrolling.
- Now you can view your class schedule or continue adding more classes.
Enroll in independent study courses
Enrolling in Independent Study, Directed Reading, Directed Research, or TGR Dissertation courses follows the same process as enrolling in other courses, except that you must identify the specific class number associated with the instructor with whom you plan to study.
Start by searching for the instructor’s section you wish to enroll in. If using ExploreCourses to identify the section you wish to enroll in, be sure that you are looking at the correct quarter associated with your class or section number. When you find the correct section, select the Enroll tab.
Search for courses
- Under Academics, click on Search.
- In the Search window, click on the Advanced Search button to open additional search criteria.
- In the Instructor Last Name space, enter the complete last name of the instructor with whom you wish to work.
- In the Course Component dropdown, select Individual Study or TGR — whichever is applicable.
- Click the Search button, and note the Class Number of the section in which you wish to enroll.
- Follow the instructions above for enrollment.
