Olivia Reyes-Becerra
Olivia recently graduated from Stanford with a Masters and Bachelors in Materials Science and Engineering and now works in product management in the Bay Area. She believes that while reaching financial independence can be daunting, the first steps are simple! Olivia’s desire to make financial independence accessible stemmed from her work as a student-staff member at the Women’s Community Center as well as her family’s trajectory from making a living as Californian farmworkers to reaping the opportunities that come with a college education. She enjoys connecting with her family’s history through creating mentoring materials for low income, first generation, and/or Latinx students in the Central Valley. The mentoring program includes topics such as financial literacy and time management. Olivia is excited to help students develop strategies for negotiating, saving, budgeting, spending, managing debt, and investing for retirement in the same way people in her life have guided her toward financial independence.
