Financial Coach

Margaret Miller

Margaret is excited to work with Stanford students on their personal finance goals. Margaret’s work at the World Bank directly involves this topic, where one of her responsibilities is to lead policy advice on financial capability strategies for countries. A key insight she hopes to share with students is that often knowledge alone is not enough to reach one’s financial goals. It is also critical to address behaviors such as procrastination. Leveraging insights developed by Stanford psychology professor Albert Bandura, Margaret has even used soap operas to help change financial behaviors in India, Mexico and South Africa. Margaret is looking forward to learning from students and working with them, so they can clearly define and then reach their individual financial goals.
