Swap Associated Sections (Lab/Discussion)

This guide will show you how to swap/adjust the associated section (e.g., lab or discussion) for a class you're already enrolled in through Navigate Enrollment.
- Review Deadlines
- You can swap/adjust associated sections through the Final Study List deadline.
- Important: Be sure to check the Upcoming Academic Dates and the Enrollment Dates & Deadlines for the exact deadlines for your section adjustments.

- Locate the Class With the Associated Section (Lab/Discussion) You’d Like to Swap
- Navigate to your My Classes page in Navigate Enrollment.
- Select the Enrolled tab to view your enrolled classes. Make sure you’ve selected the correct term.
- Locate the class that contains the associated section (lab/discussion) you wish to change.
- View Class Details
- Select the View Details button next to the class you want to adjust. This will expand the class details.

- Adjust the Associated Section (Lab/Discussion)
- Select the Adjust Associated Section button to begin making changes.
- Note: If the Adjust Associated Section button doesn't appear, there is no associated section for this class.

- Select the Adjust Associated Section button to begin making changes.
- Make Your Adjustments
- You’ll see a prompt to be able to choose a different associated section (lab/discussion) for the class.
- You must select a section marked as Open with available seats remaining.
- After selecting the new section, select Submit to confirm your changes.
- Final Confirmation
- You will receive a confirmation message indicating that your associated section has been successfully adjusted.
- Select Finish to complete the process.
Tips
- Check for Associated Section (Lab/Discussion) Availability:
- Before adjusting your lab/discussion, make sure the new section you want to join is available and has open spots. Each section will have its capacity and current enrollment listed.
- Review Class and Section Details:
- Double-check the class schedule, meeting times, and locations for both the main class and its associated section to ensure they fit with your overall schedule.
- Timing Matters:
- You can only adjust sections before the relevant deadlines. Be sure to make changes before the Final Study List deadline to avoid complications.
- Consider Section Time Conflicts:
- Ensure that the associated section you're adjusting to doesn't overlap with other courses you're enrolled in. It’s a good idea to review your entire schedule before finalizing any changes.
